Hi All,
one question - is there something like a "kite club" in Cape Town? Where fellow kiters get together for downwinders, trips to spots around the cape or langebaan.. maybe rides to Robben Island with boat/jet ski...

Hi, I'll answer your post in a nutshell… There is no Kite "Club" in Cape Town, Lots of locals who get together informally and lots of Brand dedicated enclaves. At least that is my experience. Hang around on the beach, make friends and visit the shops. That's the best way to get to know some kiters.

Actually the guys from Strand have a nice a clubhouse. They've got all the facilities incl. a compressor, pumping B-)
Everyone pretty much just rocks up and kite together but people in CT only need have an invite to do a session or trip ;-)

If you are planning anything, let me know. I'm always up for some adventure!

I think since Cape Town is so overcrowded with kiters in Summer that you can't even notice your buddies between all the other kiters and then don't make much effort to meet other kiters. I found that places with very few kiters form very good friendships.
