Kite hydrofoiling

It seems that the whole kiting world suddenly got very interested in hydrofoils this year. Stand... more >

  1. lucasleonardo2014 With a foilboard, you can now go kiting on these lovely days. - Rick Dover Knoxville

  2. Tom Slaapstad Wow, I can imagine turning must be really tough. You would need to keep enough speed to keep the hydro foil up. No fumbles or skrew ups!

  3. Christoff I think its best to learn with only one strap in the front. It gives you enough hold to the board to get up onto it, but it is loose enough that you can better ...

Where are you based? I always though ikiteboarding was South African based, even though it is a .com site? How do you check a person's profile in the new site? I like to find a persons name and where they are from so that I can try link a PC user to a person I might meet on the beach, or just to know where the person... more >

This forum seems very inactive, but mainly a cape forum? The previous inland kiting forum is gone, so we started a new one and decided to try make it a national forum with categories for each region. Let us know if it is useful:http://windchasers.co.za/ more >

  1. kite_nomad Thanks Beestie! I have a huge list of things to fix and improve but I'm stoked to see the site getting some use.

  2. Beestie spent some time checking everything out, its actually MUCH better and you get used to the new format quickly, NICE JOB...

  3. Christoff The new ikiteboarding does look cool, but also confusing at the same time (maybe because there are so many new features that I am not used to). I would also pre...

Wow, that got a lot of traffic all of a sudden! Brian, you are right, more forums do dilute the traffic. I was worried about doing that, but the windchasers.co.za forum was mainly started for the inland guys that lost their previously useful forum. Since all the other forums seemed dead I thought that I might try to... more >

If you are planning anything, let me know. I'm always up for some adventure! I think since Cape Town is so overcrowded with kiters in Summer that you can't even notice your buddies between all the other kiters and then don't make much effort to meet other kiters. I found that places with very few kiters form very... more >

Well done with a sweet looking website! It must have been a lot of effort to make the new ikiteboarding? I am still getting used to how it works. Now we just need users to start chatting I suppose? I think the layout is so different to what most people have been used to for a forum that it might take some time for... more >

  2. kite_nomad Text color has been fixed, it was hard to read, especially on LED monitors, thanks for the heads up. The new site was definitely a bit of work ;) I had done...

The new ikiteboarding does look cool, but also confusing at the same time (maybe because there are so many new features that I am not used to). I would also prefer a separate forum.  more >

Some of you might have seen some guy riding a foil board and having lots of fun even in light westerly winds here in Cape Town. If anyone is thinking of getting a hydrofoil, please come join me. So far I know of only one other guy with one here in Cape Town. It would be nice to meet up.You can check out the available... more >
