For me its about the feel. Just like a directional feels nicer on a wave, strapless feel nicer under foot. Kiting for long with straps can tire my ankles, whereas strapless is way more comfortable, and jibing and tacking is quite a bit easier strapless. more >

"The closed celled concept is new and some riders are unsure of the kites ability to perform." The article looks way outdated but the date says 07/13/2012. Weird. Hey manI've been testing the light wind limits up here in Gauteng for a while, and also kite Durban a couple of times a year, and here's what I've learnt in the years:- The best light wind thing you can buy is a course racing board. And it has to be as wide as possible (70cm). The pro's claim they kite in true 6 knots... more >

You mean the pulley on the bridle of the kite? That one is there so the kite can change angle of attack (sheet in and out) without some lines of the bridle going slack. Or maybe its a pulley to add a fifth line or something? more >

Chasing the fish away? I've heard that before. Sound like your fishermen are just as clever as our (drunk) fishermen up here inland. Ironnically it's those fishermen that don't mind us kiting that always catch the most fish up here. more >

HeyNo, I want go contra at all! The thinking back then was that you want a thick leading edge to get more power per square meter kite area. This made the kite heavy, and slow and limited wind range. I had the last contra (2008 I think), so the most refined one and I still will not recommend. The new generation light wind... more >
